Haunted House List

While I’m watching Katrina rip into my vacation plans at way over 100mph winds, I made some progress on HauntedHouseNation.com. It’s not done yet, and it still only listing DFW Haunted Houses, but you can put in your zip and the map will reload with that zip.
I’m not going to make it AJAX(like Google […]

The Dallas Halloween Haunted House List is up for 2005, and it’s using Google Maps beautifully. Still a few bugs here and there, but it’s looking great and working great. Check it out, and if you have any additions, let me know.

Playing with the Google Maps API

On my Other Blog I’ve been playing with the Google Maps API. It’s very cool, and I wonder how much XUL integration it can handle? Check it out, it’s a small example now, but I’m expanding on it.

Software Integration and OSS

I’m a big believer in Software Integration, especially in OSS software. I’ve never understood why most OSS programmers haven’t gone to that logical next step to create software integration paths. For example, if I send an email to somebody through Thunderbird, I should be able to see if they are online or not via one […]

VoIP Could Provide Better E911

Something I’ve always thought and agreed with, VoIP could provide better E911 and should. Address and name is simply not enough. When I was younger a neighbor’s house caught on fire. You could hear the firetrucks and ambulances on the OTHER block.
We were on a type of U street that connected to only one street(two […]

AdSense Firefox Extension

Firefox Adsense Extension.
Very Cool, and another reason I love Firefox, it’s incredibly customizable and useful. Plus most of the extensions are cross-platform for Mac, *Bsd, *Nix, and Windows. You can’t beat that!
Unfortunately, I have to watch over 2 adsense accounts, a personal one and then one that one of the businesses I run use. But […]

Firefox hits 80m Downloads

Asa Reports that Firefox has hit 80million downloads. This number is great, but commercial interests need percentages of users.
Well, this article shows about 5.7% on Feb 18th.
Let’s assume 5%. That’s 1 in 20. Store owners do not kick out every 1 in 20 people shopping at their store. 5% means nothing to computer geeks, but […]

My Comment on DesktopBSD

Ok, on the article about DesktopBSD on Slashdot I said this:
When is starts to fracture.
For awhile there, we only had 3, and life was good. Now we have DragonFly, Darwin, and now DesktopBSD. Any system that splits up so much must be dead or dying!!
It was a joke people, I’ve got FreeBSD on two […]

FCC Wants to Tap Your VoIP and other VoIP News Today

The FCC Wants to Tap Your VoIP. Well, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. When Phones originally came out, did anyone want to tap phones then? Nope! It wasn’t until later.
This and other news…

Over at Ars Technica you can see them take apart the Might Mouse from Apple. Pretty cool, but not what you expected. It looks like it’s pretty sparse inside.
