Netgear Skype Wifi Phone available for Pre-Order
The NetGear Wifi phone for Skype is now available for preorder with a hefty price tag of $249.99. Ouch.
I’m sure it’s good for a first product, and it looks nifty. Hopefully cheaper ones will be coming out at some point as tech advances.
Culled from the Web
I saw this, VoiceTronix.
The OpenPCI series is our new entry level CT hardware platform offering four (4) and eight (8) Loop-Start (FXO) or Station (FXS) ports on a PCI 2.2 bus interface running on Linux.
With Asterisk compatability, and coming soon, FreeBSD support. Nice.

My VoIP Plan
My VoIP Plan is still with VoicePulse Connect with 1 incoming for $11/mo(unlimited minutes), and outgoing is with VoIPJet with 1.3c/min outgoing. Both are hooked up through Asterisk, there is fallback to VoicePulse for outgoing in case VoIPJet is down(hasn’t happened yet). And I’m hooked up to my asterisk with my DVG-1402S (Setup Help Here).
Monday Morning VoIP
Voip-Solution a canadian company has gone live. Only $16.67/mo, plus $25 first time fee for a USB to std telephone bridge. Very cool, but I’ll stick with my D-Link. Looks like they aren’t doing 911 either. I wonder if it is because they are in Canada they don’t have to worry about providing it, even […]
New Asterisk Page
I’ve created a new Asterisk page for people who come here via search engine and are looking for something specific. That way they can find the newest up to date info for that topic. I’ve also got a page on the D-Link 1402S because that comes up quite often. Feel free to leave feedback and […]
PoE acceptance brought by VoIP
Just saw this article over at Slashdot. PoE(Power over Ethernet) has always been a cool concept to me. It will be a major competitor to standard electrical outlets as more and more things become networked. Of course outlets aren’t going to go anywhere(until some kind of crazy wireless power system comes out). But imagine […]
DVG-1402S Addendum
I’ve created a DVG-1402S Page to help anyone looking for information on that piece of equipment. I’ll try to keep it updated as I find more information! The DVG-1402S is a great little piece of technology, but has some bugs and is difficult to get working. You can buy a locked version of the D-Link […]
DVG-1402S
Got my DVG-1402S router from Sipphone, hooked it up to my Asterisk box, and can receive calls on my Voicepulse line, and make calls on my Voipjet account. =) Hell yeah.
The only problem is the Caller ID information is not being passed to the handset(And AT&T 5.8Ghz w/ two handsets). It always comes up as […]
